Software Quality Engineer

PureWellness, a leading software solutions provider for the health and wellness industry is seeking a Software Quality Engineer. This position will be responsible for working with the development team on the testing and qualifying of new software development. The QA engineer will be responsible for supporting a feature delivery team. The engineer will be responsible for ensure high-quality testable deliverables which can include a feature specific test plan, design, develop and execute manual test cases and track defects. This position will also be responsible for developing SQL validation scripts to support data conversion test efforts. This is not a remote position. It is located at our headquarters in South Burlington, VT.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and write formal test plans and test specifications to address system and integration testing, and data conversion testing.
  • Manually execute detailed test procedures designed to validate application functional requirements.
  • Ensure software requirements are verifiable and quantifiable with the ability to build test cases with direct involvement from business customers.
  • Document defects in a defect tracking system.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree and test engineering experience working on complex projects is a plus.
  • Experience writing detailed test plans, test cases, and detailed test scripts.
  • Experience developing SQL validation scripts (using joins).
  • Ability to closely work with business partners and development partners in writing detailed test plans.
  • Experience with defect creation, management and stakeholder communication.
  • Able to work well with distributed business and IT partners.

Preferable Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM applications
  • Data Analyst/DBA Experience a plus
  • Experience with Web based applications
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment
  • Comfortable working with minimal direction preferred
  • Self motivated and comfortable working with a team or independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team Player

Benefits and Compensation:

The salary range for this full-time position is $40 -45k annually depending upon skill and experience.
